We continue our interview with Mr.Mohamed Radwan where was ask questions about soft skills, new technologies and network design, and the newest iteration of his famous CCDE exam.

Enjoy the read!

Mr. Radwan, the world of networking is drastically changing with the emergence of new technologies like IoT, SDN, NFV, and the cloud, we’d like to know how’s it’s going to change the network world, particularly the design process?

Virtualization comes to mind, also traffic Flow & Information/Cyber Security will change things drastically, not to mention Integration and Open Source vs Vendor proprietary.

Are soft skills important in network design? And what are the most important interpersonal skills a network designer should acquire?

Of course, soft skills are very important for a successful network designer, you have to be a good communicator in order to get things done, you also need negotiation skills and presentation skills.

Being an active lister will help you greatly too. Overall, social intelligence is a crucial skill every designer should have.

Are there any prerequisites or entry barriers for the CCDE exam? Or can you go from zero to hero in a couple of months?

There are no official prerequisites for CCDE, but in my opinion, a candidate should have:

At least 7 years of experience and 3 – 5 years of design experience. Customer interaction (Pre-Sales) is a big plus

So, for someone who finally got their CCDE certification? What’s next?

Relax & Enjoy life, and practice for a marathon or an Ironman, never stop learning.

There are new and exciting emerging Technologies you can learn about that will enhance your skillsets, Software Development/Programming, and Security.

Finally, we know that you do provide professional training for CCDE, Why AIS – Your company – is considered a good choice when it comes to CCDE preparation and overall learning experience?

The training program was specifically designed and built with several goals in mind. IT assures that you are fully committed to studying, starting with self-study methodologies. Its tailored to network designer mindset and CCDE exam.

It also provides you with a mentor advice and expertise, it’s a quality personal training backed with more than 18 years’ experience in Network/Telecommunication fields in Global Service Providers, Operator, Telco, and DC/Cloud SP. And as I just mentioned, having a mentor is one of the most effective ways to prepare for your CCDE exam.

The program is very flexible as you attend from anywhere as long as you have access to a computer. It also comes with a modular payment, so you pay as you attend and is delivered in two languages (English and Arabic). All in all, it’s a great experience that you should try at least once, I assure you won’t regret it.

I mentored this training program several times with dozens of students that not only were extremely happy with the value they received, but also contributed in improving and expanding the program, and each track, we keep improving both the experience and learning material, so the potential here is limitless.
